ABSTRACT
Pregnancy outcome for women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has remarkably improved, with a significant increase in the success rate over 85% in recent years. However, pregnancy in patients with SLE remains a high-risk condition. Pre-pregnancy counselling, risk assessment, a multidisciplinary approach, and
early recognition of signs related to SLE complications (medical and/or obstetric), are essential cornerstones for both maternal and fetal successful outcomes.
