ABSTRACT
In this paper we discuss the problem of inflammatory osteoporosis in a group of secondary osteoporosis. We evaluated prevalence of low bone mass and vertebral fractures in patients with chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases. We also discuss the role of anti-inflammatory treatment in the process of mineralization disorders. We present the role of classical densitometry and vertebral fracture assessment using DXA technique in the diagnostic process. The pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis with antiresorptive drugs is also presented in this article.
