ABSTRACT
Acute, recurrent, seronegative oligoarthritis starting in childhood is observed in two consecutive generations of the same family (in 12 cases). Extra-articular symptoms are also observed: hepato-and/or splenomegaly, myocarditis, frequent infections as well as high values of ESR and CRP and decreased haemoglobin level. In some patients there occurred leucopenia, hypergam-maglobulinaemia and haematuria. HLA-B27 was negative in all members of the family. Histological examination of synovium, performed in 3 cases after synovectomy, yielded an atypical picture. The described syndrome does not correspond to the criteria of any definite rheumatic disease.
