ABSTRACT
Rheumatic diseases are one of the most frequent among the patients of primary care doctors. The specific aspects of their diagnosis and therapy involve a multidisciplinary team; however, the coordinator of such activities should remain the family practitioner. To achieve effective results of the treatment of rheumatic patients, common guidelines for therapy at a primary care level are expected to be developed by a team of rheumatologists and family doctors
