ABSTRACT
The article describes general principles of application and types of prophylactic vaccination in adults and children. The authors review the literature on the risk of infection in patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases and efficacy and safety of vaccines used in them. The desirability of use of vaccination is shown in these patients, especially when they are treated with “biological” drugs, due to increased risk of infection in them.
This paper presents recommendations for use of vaccination in adults and children with rheumatic diseases, presented by EULAR in 2011.
